100% bio-based PLA multifilament yarns from The FilamentFactory

new trainees

With bio-based PLA multifilament yarns, we can contribute to a sustainable circular economy. By not using a fossil base for the product, we create a more sustainable carbon cycle than is the case with conventional polymers.

The PLA pellets used to manufacture our PLA yarns are certified industrially compostable, which opens up great opportunities for reducing plastic pollution in the world.

Compared to fossil-based polymers, the production of PLA creates significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions. Moreover, the CO2 produced in the process was not extracted from the earth’s interior in the form of fossil fuels. Thus, the amount of CO2 present in the atmosphere is not further increased.

Through common efforts and a matching infrastructure, PLA can create a sustainable cycle in many textile-related areas.
